There was en EML today by Nandita Das about "How Cinema effects Society" blah , on which she dint speak much but rather her experiences and the social activist she is.I felt about many things the way she does , or rather more strongly than her at places( but i am not an activist) .
She aptly said , that we fall back to be proud of things as " i m a Brahmin" , " i am a Marathi" , " I am a Bengali" etc , which we have not even control of ! . Its just lack of self esteem that people do it and divide society on wrong note .
One of the part which i can appreciate about is her stand as a women of substance rather as an "object of Affection/Lust" . She said she has an issue with " fair & lovely " kind of stuffs and she doesnt use them at all ( wonder she does for films atleast !).
I also think that women are not just for looking good and skinny , glowy etc , physical interpretation of XX genes with all their attributes but something more.Truly , girls who look around in mirror all time isn't a bravo.Actually, should be more dimensions to women than just appearance , after which world is going crazy about.These are society driven thoughts and concepts . I think Nandita was as Rocking in Rockford(!) as she was today ... and thats more like it .
That said , to be part of social change , i should be doing more than writing a blog post ! Society has mutated a lot in the last decade than in last 50 years together , so i should ketchuptance is more important than just looks.

One suggestion: Improve the coherence of your sentences, make complete sentences, and use punctuation appropriately.
Besides making your English much better, it helps the reader understand the ideas much more clearly and appreciate them better.
yeah da , i dint structure as i wanted to post it last night only , the day i met "her" which made sense... so before midnight struck , i had 15 minutes and i just scrambled my thoughts as random sentences ..
sure will try to be coherent
well I didnt attend the EML ....not sure whether what abhinav has to say is what Nandita wanted to say.....but even then whatever you are saying is true.Society really has changed at an exponential rate in the past decade......we surely have to ketchup with it!!!!
yeah guess so , may be you are also hinting regarding the deep discussions we have at your palacial room @ midnights , one really needs to ketchup ... may be tomorrow in Mess with bonda and bread :P

hey , did i say that ? i dont even remember !
But truth be spoken , i find many activist and socialist have their own problems which they dont sort out with the same passion as they talk in public. I know few public figures like those and i think it will be cliched to speak .
Social change by a renaissance within yourself and then to the people , which i dont find in any of the people alive today , perhaps Mother Teresa is the last i can remember .
